If my heart isn’t fully sincere yet, should I wait until my intention is pure before I start praying and giving, or begin anyway?اگر میرا دل ابھی پوری طرح خالص نہیں، تو کیا مجھے نماز اور صدقہ شروع کرنے سے پہلے نیت کے صاف ہونے کا انتظار کرنا چاہیے، یا بہرحال شروع کر دینا چاہیے؟
Do not wait. Begin now, with the heart you have today, and let the sincerity ripen along the way. Holding the deed back until the intention is spotless is like refusing to enter the water until you are already a swimmer.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, taught that Allah values what is steady over what is spectacular:
“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those done regularly, even if small.”

Notice what this does not ask of you. It does not ask you to arrive perfect. It asks you to keep walking, a little and often. And the striving itself is what opens the door:
“And those who strive for Us, We will surely guide them to Our ways.”

Look at the order. First the striving, then the guidance. Allah does not say, purify your heart completely and then come to Me. He says, strive, and I will guide you to the clearer way. Sincerity is not a gate you must pass through before the journey; it is a light that grows on you as you travel.
The people of knowledge have long said the same: seek sincerity through the deed itself, because the heart is polished by acting, not by standing aside and waiting for a purity that never arrives on its own. The prayer offered with a half-awake heart today is what softens the heart for tomorrow’s prayer. The coin given while the intention still wobbles is what teaches the hand to give freely next time. Waiting purifies nothing. The doing does the polishing.
So step in with your imperfection in your hands. When you pray or give despite the unfinished heart, you are not being a hypocrite; you are being a beginner, and Allah accepts the effort of the one who is still on the way. Let the deed lead, and the heart will follow it home.
One small step: Choose one very small act you can keep without fail, two units of prayer or a single small coin given daily, and begin it today, saying to yourself: I offer this now, and I ask Allah to purify it as I go.
انتظار نہ کیجیے۔ جو دل آج ہے، اسی کے ساتھ آج ہی شروع کر دیجیے، اور نیت کو راستے میں سنورنے دیجیے۔ نیت کے پوری طرح صاف ہو جانے تک عمل روکے رکھنا تو ایسا ہی ہے جیسے کوئی کہے کہ پانی میں اُس وقت اتروں گا جب خشکی پر پورا تیراک بن جاؤں گا۔ نیت پانی میں اتر کر ہی صاف ہوتی ہے۔
دل کوئی برتن نہیں کہ ایک ہی بار میں دھو کر رکھ دیا جائے، یہ باغ کی طرح ہے جو روز کے تھوڑے تھوڑے پانی سے ہرا رہتا ہے۔ اسی لیے نبی کریم ﷺ نے تسلسل کی طرف بلایا ہے، کمال کے انتظار کی طرف نہیں۔
”اللہ کے نزدیک سب سے محبوب عمل وہ ہے جو ہمیشگی سے کیا جائے، خواہ وہ تھوڑا ہی ہو۔“

اس فرمان میں کہیں یہ شرط نہیں کہ پہلے نیت بےعیب کر لو، پھر آنا۔ بات صرف اتنی ہے کہ آ جاؤ، تھوڑا سا لے کر آ جاؤ، اور آتے رہو۔ اور جو چلنا شروع کر دیتا ہے، اللہ اس کا ہاتھ تھام لیتا ہے اور راستے خود کھلتے چلے جاتے ہیں۔ یہ اُسی کا وعدہ ہے۔
”اور جو لوگ ہماری خاطر کوشش کرتے ہیں، ہم ضرور انہیں اپنے راستے دکھا دیتے ہیں۔“

ترتیب پر غور کیجیے، پہلے کوشش ہے، اس کے بعد ہدایت۔ یعنی خالص نیت کوئی ایسی چیز نہیں جو سفر شروع کرنے سے پہلے ہاتھ آ جائے، وہ تو چلنے والے کو راستے میں عطا ہوتی ہے۔ اہلِ علم بھی برسوں سے یہی سمجھاتے آئے ہیں کہ اخلاص عمل ہی کے ذریعے تلاش کیا جاتا ہے، کیونکہ دل عمل سے صاف ہوتا ہے، کنارے پر بیٹھ کر انتظار کرنے سے نہیں۔ آج آدھے جاگتے دل سے پڑھی گئی نماز ہی کل کی نماز کے لیے دل نرم کرتی ہے، اور نیت ڈولتے ہوئے دیا گیا ایک روپیہ ہی ہاتھ کو کھلے دل سے دینا سکھاتا ہے۔ انتظار سے کچھ صاف نہیں ہوتا، صفائی عمل سے ہوتی ہے۔
تو آپ نماز پڑھیے، صدقہ دیجیے، چاہے دل ابھی ملا جلا ہو۔ ادھورے دل کے ساتھ عمل کر لینا ریاکاری نہیں، یہ ابتدا کرنا ہے، اور اللہ اُس کی کوشش قبول کرتا ہے جو ابھی راستے میں ہے۔ عمل کو آگے رکھیے، دل خود پیچھے چلا آئے گا۔
ایک چھوٹا قدم: آج کوئی ایک چھوٹی نیکی، خواہ ایک نفل یا ایک روپے کا صدقہ، نیت کے کامل ہونے کا انتظار کیے بغیر ابھی کر ڈالیے، اور کرتے وقت دل میں کہیے، ”یا اللہ، یہ تیرے لیے ہے، تو میری نیت سنوار دے“۔
