There is nothing wrong with wanting wealth. A needless fear has grown up around a very natural desire. Wealth is like water: it can drown a man or it can turn a whole valley green. The water was never the question. What matters is who holds the jug and where he pours it.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, praised a certain longing, and in doing so opened a door many people think is shut:
“There is no envy except in two: a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the way of truth, and a man whom Allah has given wisdom and he judges by it and teaches it.”

He did not say the wealthy man is to be pitied or suspected. He said his station may be worth aspiring to, because his riches have become rivers of good. So the ambition stirring in you is sound, so long as it grows toward that man: the one who earns much and gives much.
Your Lord Himself sends you out to seek His bounty, and He does it right after the call to worship, so that prayer and provision walk together:
“And when the prayer is concluded, disperse through the land and seek from the bounty of Allah.”

And in case some scruple should still hold you back, He removes the very worry you are carrying, even for the one earning in the midst of sacred days and sacred places:
“There is no blame upon you for seeking bounty from your Lord.”

Remember too that some of the closest companions were among the wealthiest merchants of their age, and their riches never dimmed their nearness to Allah, because in their hands money stayed a servant and never became a master. That is the whole secret. Want wealth the way you would want a strong horse: not to be carried off by it, but to ride it somewhere good. Keep your hand open and your heart free, and the wanting itself becomes worship.
One small step: Write down one specific good you would do with more wealth, a regular charity or a particular person you would help, and give a small portion of it today, so your ambition is tied to generosity from the start.
مال کی خواہش نہ گناہ ہے، نہ عیب۔ اسلام نے مال کو کہیں برا نہیں کہا، قرآن نے تو اسے ”خیر“ یعنی بھلائی کہہ کر پکارا ہے۔ خرابی مال میں نہیں، مال کی محبت کے دل پر قابض ہو جانے میں ہے۔ پانی کشتی کے نیچے رہے تو منزل تک پہنچا دیتا ہے، کشتی کے اندر آ جائے تو ڈبو دیتا ہے۔ دولت بھی ہاتھ میں رہے تو نعمت ہے، دل میں بیٹھ جائے تو بوجھ۔
نبی کریم ﷺ نے مالدار کی وہ صورت بیان فرمائی جس پر رشک کرنا روا ہے۔
”رشک صرف دو شخصوں پر ہے، ایک وہ جسے اللہ نے مال عطا کیا اور اس نے اسے حق کی راہ میں خرچ کیا، اور دوسرا وہ جسے اللہ نے حکمت (علم) عطا کی، پس وہ اس کے مطابق فیصلہ کرتا ہے اور اسے سکھاتا ہے۔“

دیکھیے، رشک محض مال پر نہیں، مال کو حق کی راہ میں خرچ کر دینے پر ہے۔ اس لیے سچے دل سے مال مانگنا دراصل نیکی کا ایک وسیع میدان مانگنا ہے، جتنا زیادہ آئے گا، اتنا ہی زیادہ بانٹنے اور خیر کمانے کا موقع ملے گا۔ رب نے تو رزق کی تلاش کو عبادت کے ساتھ ہی جوڑ دیا ہے۔
”پھر جب نماز پوری ہو جائے تو زمین میں پھیل جاؤ اور اللہ کا فضل تلاش کرو۔“

حج جیسے پاکیزہ سفر میں بھی، جہاں دل سارا رب کی طرف لگا ہوتا ہے، حلال تجارت سے فضل تلاش کرنے کی کھلی اجازت دی گئی۔
”تم پر کوئی گناہ نہیں کہ تم اپنے رب کا فضل تلاش کرو۔“

صحابہ کرام میں کئی حضرات اپنے زمانے کے بڑے تاجر تھے، مگر مال نے ان کی اللہ سے قربت میں کمی نہ آنے دی، کیونکہ ان کے ہاتھ میں مال خادم رہا، آقا نہ بنا۔ اصل بات یہی ہے۔ سو دل کھول کر رزقِ حلال کی خواہش کیجیے، بس نیت سنبھلی رہے کہ یہ مال اللہ سے قریب کرے، دور نہ کرے، اور آپ کے ہاتھ سے مخلوق کا بھلا ہوتا رہے۔ ایسا مال خود ایک عبادت بن جاتا ہے۔
ایک چھوٹا قدم: آج مال کے لیے ایک نیت طے کر لیجیے، مثلاً ”یا اللہ، مجھے اتنا حلال مال دے کہ والدین کی خدمت اور کسی ضرورت مند کی مدد کر سکوں“، پھر اسے کاغذ پر لکھ کر سامنے رکھ لیجیے، تاکہ ہر کمائی کا رخ اسی طرف رہے۔
