What you are feeling is not a sign that something has gone wrong. You reached the place you worked years for, and your heart asked, “Is this all?” That question comes up in every serious life, because a man was not built to be satisfied by a salary.
The mistake was in the plan, not in you. You expected peace to be waiting at the destination. It was never kept there. Allah placed it somewhere you carry with you.
“Those who believe and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah. Truly, it is in the remembrance of Allah that hearts find rest.”
Qur’an, Ar-Ra’d 13:28 · meaning
The heart is a cup shaped for one particular water. Pour in position, applause and comfort, and it still feels light, because none of that is its water. Only His remembrance fills it. So the emptiness is not a punishment. It is a signal, and it points home.
The Qur’an even names the condition, a life with everything in it that still feels narrow.
“And whoever turns away from My remembrance, indeed he will have a constricted life.”

Those who study human behaviour have noticed the same thing from the outside. We adjust to whatever we attain, and quickly, so arriving rarely delivers the lasting fullness we were certain it would. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said it in a single sentence centuries earlier.
“Richness is not in the abundance of possessions; rather, true richness is the richness of the soul.”

So you are not lacking. You are rich in one place and thirsty in another. Keep the position, there is no harm in it. It only needs to be joined to the remembrance that answers the deeper thirst. Then the same success that felt hollow will begin to feel like a gift, because it will be resting on a full heart.
One small step: Tonight before sleep, sit for two quiet minutes with your eyes closed and repeat softly, “Allah, Allah”, letting the heart taste the rest that no promotion could give it.
جو کیفیت آپ بیان کر رہے ہیں، یہ کسی خرابی کی علامت نہیں۔ آپ اُس مقام تک پہنچ گئے جس کے لیے برسوں محنت کی، اور پہنچ کر دل نے پوچھا، بس اتنا ہی؟ یہ سوال اُسی دل میں اٹھتا ہے جو زندہ ہو۔ بات دراصل یہ ہے کہ روح کی خوراک کچھ اور ہے۔ پیسہ، عہدہ، گاڑی، مکان، ان سے جسم کی ضرورتیں پوری ہو جاتی ہیں، دل کی پیاس ان سے نہیں بجھتی۔ تجوری بھر گئی، مگر جو خزانہ دل کو سیر کرتا ہے، وہ رکھا ہی کہیں اور گیا ہے۔
یہ راز رب نے خود بیان فرما دیا ہے۔
”وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے اور اللہ کی یاد سے ان کے دل چین پاتے ہیں۔ سن لو! اللہ ہی کی یاد سے دلوں کو اطمینان نصیب ہوتا ہے۔“
قرآن، سورۃ الرعد ۱۳:۲۸ · مفہوم
یعنی اطمینان مال کی مقدار میں نہیں، اللہ کی یاد میں رکھا گیا ہے۔ آدمی کتنا ہی کما لے، جب تک دل اپنے مالک سے جڑا نہ ہو، اندر ایک ان دیکھی تنگی باقی رہتی ہے۔ اس کیفیت کا نام بھی قرآن نے بتا دیا۔
”اور جس نے میری یاد سے منہ موڑا، تو بے شک اس کے لیے ایک تنگ زندگی ہے۔“
قرآن، سورۃ طٰہٰ ۲۰:۱۲۴ · مفہوم
یہ ”تنگ زندگی“ صرف خالی جیب کا نام نہیں۔ بھری جیب کے باوجود جو گھٹن اندر رہتی ہے، وہ بھی یہی ہے۔ اور یہ سزا نہیں، اشارہ ہے، کہ سکون اِس طرف ہے، اِدھر آ جاؤ۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے تو امیری کی تعریف ہی بدل دی۔
”مالداری ساز و سامان کی کثرت کا نام نہیں، بلکہ اصل مالداری تو دل کی مالداری ہے۔“

تو اصل دولت بینک کے ہندسوں میں نہیں، دل کے غنا میں ہے۔ جس دل میں اللہ کی یاد اور اُس کے دیے پر شکر بس جائے، وہ تھوڑے میں بھی بادشاہ ہے، اور جو دل اِس یاد سے خالی ہو، وہ خزانوں پر بیٹھ کر بھی خالی رہتا ہے۔ عہدہ آپ کے ہاتھ میں رہے، اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں۔ اسے صرف اُس یاد سے جوڑنا ہے جو اندر کی پیاس بجھاتی ہے۔
ایک چھوٹا قدم: آج رات سونے سے پہلے تین منٹ آنکھیں بند کر کے، دل ہی دل میں آہستہ آہستہ ”اللہ، اللہ“ کہیے، اور جو کچھ میسر ہے اُس پر شکر ادا کیجیے۔ چند دن میں خود محسوس ہوگا کہ یہی چھوٹی سی یاد اندر کی خالی جگہ بھرنے لگی ہے۔
