Is it really true that my everyday dealings, buying, selling, working, can count as worship, or is worship only what happens in the mosque?کیا یہ واقعی سچ ہے کہ میرے روزمرہ کے معاملات، خرید و فروخت، کام کاج، عبادت شمار ہو سکتے ہیں، یا عبادت صرف وہی ہے جو مسجد میں ہوتی ہے؟
No, worship is not shut inside the mosque. That habit of thinking, that the prayer mat is sacred ground while the shop, the office, the workshop are a lesser and worldly remainder, has settled into many of us, but it was not the way of the Prophet, peace be upon him, nor of those who walked the path of the heart after him. Allah, glory be to Him, did not divide your life into a sacred corner and a profane rest. He asked for all of it.
Consider how wide the surrender is that He teaches you to speak with your own tongue.
“Say: indeed my prayer, my rites of worship, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.”

Your living is set beside your prayer, in the same breath, offered to the same Lord. So the honest weighing of your goods, the fair wage you pay, the patience you keep with a difficult customer, all of this is your living, and your living has already been handed over. Even the most ordinary act of care inside your own house is counted, for the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
“Whatever you spend seeking the pleasure of Allah, you are rewarded for it, even the morsel you place in your wife’s mouth.”

And the worker is not left behind while the worshipper goes ahead. Notice how the mosque and the marketplace are named together, in one breath.
“Every day the sun rises, a charity is due upon every joint of a person: to deal justly between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting his belongings onto it, is a charity; a good word is a charity; every step you take towards the prayer is a charity; and removing something harmful from the road is a charity.”

The steps that carry you towards the prayer and the fair settling of a matter between two people stand in the same list, in the same currency. Helping a man lift his load onto his animal, one good word, clearing something harmful from the road, each of these is a charity in exactly the way the step towards the prayer is a charity. So your honest weighing at the counter, your patience with a hard customer, your hand under someone else’s burden, none of it is a pause in your worship. It is the place where your Lord is receiving it. In our Naqshbandi way there is a principle called khalwat dar anjuman, solitude within the crowd: the heart quietly turned to Allah while the hands are busy in the marketplace. You do not have to leave the world to find Him. The bustle of your trade can itself become a place of remembrance, your buying and selling threaded through with His name.
One small step: Tomorrow, before you begin your work, pause for one breath and say quietly in your heart, “O Allah, this too is for You,” then carry that single intention through the day.
نہیں، عبادت صرف مسجد کے اندر کی چیز نہیں۔ ہم میں سے بہت لوگوں کے ذہن میں یہ بات بیٹھ گئی ہے کہ مصلّہ اور مسجد ہی عبادت کی جگہ ہے، اور دن بھر کا کاروبار، لین دین، دفتر کی محنت اور گھر کی خدمت کوئی الگ، دنیاوی معاملہ ہے۔ دین نے زندگی کو اِس طرح ٹکڑوں میں نہیں بانٹا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ سے پوری زندگی مانگی ہے، کوئی ایک کونا نہیں۔
دیکھیے، اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ ہی کی زبان سے کتنی جامع بات کہلوائی ہے۔
”کہہ دیجیے، بے شک میری نماز، میری قربانی، میرا جینا اور میرا مرنا، سب اللہ کے لیے ہے جو تمام جہانوں کا پروردگار ہے۔“

نماز اور قربانی کے ساتھ ہی ”میرا جینا“ بھی رکھ دیا گیا، اُسی سانس میں، اُسی رب کے نام پر۔ تو صبح روزی کے لیے نکلنا، سودا ٹھیک تولنا، مزدور کی مزدوری پوری دینا، کسی مشکل گاہک کے ساتھ صبر سے پیش آنا، یہ سب آپ کا جینا ہے، اور یہ جینا اللہ کے حوالے ہو چکا۔ گھر کے اندر کا معمولی سا کام بھی بےقدر نہیں رہتا۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا:
”تم جو کچھ اللہ کی رضا کے لیے خرچ کرتے ہو اُس کا اجر تمہیں ملتا ہے، حتیٰ کہ وہ لقمہ بھی جو تم اپنی بیوی کے منہ میں رکھتے ہو۔“

اور یہ بھی نہ سمجھیے کہ نمازی آگے نکل گیا اور کمانے والا پیچھے رہ گیا۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے مسجد اور بازار، دونوں کو ایک ہی فہرست میں شمار فرمایا ہے۔
”ہر اُس دن جس میں سورج طلوع ہوتا ہے، انسان کے ہر جوڑ پر ایک صدقہ لازم ہے۔ دو آدمیوں کے درمیان انصاف کے ساتھ فیصلہ کرا دینا صدقہ ہے، کسی کو اُس کی سواری پر سوار کرا دینا یا اُس کا سامان اُٹھا کر اُس پر رکھ دینا صدقہ ہے، اچھی بات کہنا صدقہ ہے، نماز کی طرف اُٹھنے والا ہر قدم صدقہ ہے، اور راستے سے تکلیف دہ چیز ہٹا دینا صدقہ ہے۔“

نماز کی طرف بڑھنے والا قدم اور دو آدمیوں کے درمیان انصاف کا فیصلہ، دونوں ایک ہی فہرست میں، ایک ہی نام سے، صدقہ ٹھہرے۔ کسی کا سامان اُٹھا کر اُس کی سواری پر رکھ دینا، ایک اچھی بات کہہ دینا، راستے سے کوئی تکلیف دہ چیز ہٹا دینا، اِن میں سے ہر ایک اُسی طرح صدقہ ہے جس طرح نماز کی طرف اُٹھنے والا قدم صدقہ ہے۔ تو دکان پر ٹھیک تولنا، گاہک کی سختی پر صبر کر لینا، کسی کے بوجھ کے نیچے ہاتھ دے دینا، یہ آپ کی عبادت میں وقفہ نہیں، یہی وہ جگہ ہے جہاں آپ کا رب اُسے قبول فرما رہا ہے۔ ہمارے نقشبندی طریقے میں ایک اصول ہے، خلوت در انجمن، یعنی مجمع میں تنہائی· ہاتھ بازار میں مصروف ہوں اور دل خاموشی سے اللہ کی طرف لگا رہے۔ اُسے پانے کے لیے دنیا چھوڑ کر کہیں جانے کی ضرورت نہیں۔ کاروبار کی یہی گہماگہمی ذکر کی جگہ بن سکتی ہے، بس لین دین کے ساتھ ساتھ اُس کا نام دل میں چلتا رہے۔
ایک چھوٹا قدم: کل کام شروع کرنے سے پہلے ایک لمحہ رُک کر دل میں کہہ لیجیے، ”یا اللہ، یہ بھی تیرے لیے ہے۔“ پھر یہی ایک نیت سارا دن ساتھ رکھیے۔
